Inspiration

I was moved by the work of a local student-run volunteer organization when I first interacted with them. They provide health services to underprivileged people in the community, a significant part of the community, mainly children with thalassemia are dependent on their work because they voluntarily give blood to those children and other people in need. As a tech enthusiast and a web developer, I wanted to help them in my capacity so I approached the founders and offered them my service voluntarily, they loved my idea of a website and decided to go with it.

What it does

The main idea is to make the work of the organization accessible to people around the globe, and help the organization get support both financially and attract more volunteers. We are working to expand the work and focus on providing other services as well.

How we built it

I first made a draft of the website in Figma and scheduled a meeting with the organization's founders. I give them ideas about the importance of the website and how I will proceed with it. We also discussed the requirements and scale of the project. Then I updated the UI in Figma while keeping in mind the things that were discussed in the meeting and started coding it. I completed the website with help from content writers from my friends' startup, I am also a part of it. They did the content writing and some designing part. In a recent annual summit, I made everything ready for launch and we were able to launch the website during the summit in front of hundreds of participants.

Challenges I ran into

There were many small and big challenges we faced. Initially, it was hard to make the founders understand my work but they were passionate about my work and we worked through it, with my dedication and their will to know, we got through this challenge swiftly. Another big challenge for me was that I was a solo developer working on the project and had to dedicate a large part of my time to complete it timely even during my study days in college and summer but I loved the work and got through it with passion and dedication.

Accomplishments that we're proud of and what we learned

I learned a lot during the whole process of creating the project and the fun part is that I shared my knowledge of technology with doctors (Actually the founders of the organization are both MBBS doctors) and learned about new and interesting medical concepts while working with them.

What's next for Hack with Figma

I am looking to update the UI of the website and the Figma design of the UI that I made is a better way to start with, I am also looking for front-end developers to help me with the degradation of the design.
