Inspiration

All of our parents showed us "Back to the Future" as kids. Since their generation loved this movie so much, we wanted to make a project that all generations could enjoy and interact with.

What it does

It allows you to travel back in time to any date you want, and find out what historical events took place on that date

How we built it

Used HTML, and CSS for the front end which took inspiration from the clocks on the Delorean from "Back to the Future." Use JavaScript from the backend and implement a database to retrieve historical events based on what date the user inputs.

Challenges we ran into

Most of us didn't have any Front-End experience with HTML and CSS, so at first, it was a struggle to learn the fundamentals and get started. After hours of learning and speed-running courses and YouTube videos, we were able to get to work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to design a working "Back to the Future" Delorean clock. As well as being able to implement a transition video after user "Time Travels." Lastly, we were able to get a database working with your project.

What we learned

We learned how to build a functional web application from scratch and how to brainstorm efficiently and implement ideas as a team.

What's next for TimeBridge

We're planning on taking this project to the next level and keeping it more engaging as time goes on. The idea for the future is to make it into a future news generator if the user inputs a date set in the future.
