Hack the Devpost - Find Teammates in Your Timezone!

A new feature on Devpost lets you see other users' timezones, making it effortless to collaborate with international teammates during remote hackathons. Say goodbye to guesswork and hello to teamwork!

Inspiration

International hackathon experiences are a great way to collaborate with people from different cultures and remote parts of the world, but usually there is a lack of efficiency and synergy because while i am comfortably coding at 18:00, my team mate is struggling not to fall asleep since its well past midnight in his part of the world. I knew that Devpost needs some feature to fix this common occurance.

What it does

Introducing - Find Teammates in your Timezone, a perfect collaboration feature to find people who are in the same timezone as you are! Did you know that Stockholm, in Sweden and Abuja, in Nigeria are in the same timezone? Well now you do!

Why waste perfect harmony while working with teammates from around the world on counting hours back and fourth, find a teammate that has a similar schedule and code away!

How we built it

This is merely an idea and design, although, based on user's location, if set, this shouldn't be a problem to get and display on user cards. There is a ton of API's and libraries that can extract timezones and local time based on location!

What's next for Hack the Devpost - User Profile Timezone

Next thing to do, is to get our hands dirty, implement this feature, and improve overall user experience while looking for a teammate using Devpost!
