Inspiration
Many small businesses are shutting because of a lack of capital, esp during Covid-19. We wanted to develop an app that can help NGOs to grow and give back to our society.
What it does
It is an app that connects anyone willing to invest/fund/donate, with NGOs and other small-scale businesses
How I built it
UI design - Figma Development - flutter
Challenges I ran into
All of us being 1st year, it was really hard to code and also come up with new ideas whilst using tools that we were not comfortable with.
project essay
“We rise by lifting others”, it’s as if our souls are wired to feel nothing but love. In this effort, many NGOs have risen in the past few decades to identify and serve fundamentally essential social causes. However, giving back to society takes up a lot of time and resources. In our app Locus, we made it easier for the NGOs to find and convince the investors to endorse them.
In Locus, one can provide information about the organization, including all the events and activities to engage with the people that support you. You can add amusing information about the projects you are working on: description, images, videos. The visual feed can reflect your brand's uniqueness and differentiate your approach to the investors. Also, one can have a secure deal with investors with our feature of protected instant messaging. Locus also creates “around you” tab which navigates all NGOs within the investor’s place for ease. In Locus, we give utmost priority to our user who is either the organization/investor as they have the right to accept or reject the deal and continue with broadcasting ideas.
Locus’s sole purpose is to enable users to share images or videos about kindness and compassion which is much needed in this world. It gives users an opportunity from all walks of life, a chance to chase down the dream of re-paying humanity.
What I learned
