nspiration The idea behind Hack for Humanity: Ethical Tourism Platform was inspired by the need for more responsible and sustainable travel solutions. We wanted to create a platform that helps travelers make ethical choices while supporting local communities, preserving cultural heritage, and reducing environmental impact.
What it does Our platform connects travelers with ethical tourism experiences, ensuring that their trips benefit local businesses, protect the environment, and promote cultural awareness. It provides recommendations for eco-friendly accommodations, fair-trade activities, and responsible tour operators, making it easy to travel consciously.
How we built it We developed the platform using a combination of React.js for the front end and Node.js with Express for the backend. We integrated Google Maps API for location-based services and used MongoDB to store user preferences and ethical tourism options. The platform also features AI-driven recommendations to personalize travel experiences based on sustainability ratings.
