Inspiration
Our inspiration came from trying to support the economy of mexican families during the pandemic, while also allowing the community to enjoy sports.
What it does
The web app shows the amount and distribution of the seats in a sports stadium, taking into account the six-feet-apart rule the government has established. The app allows users to choose their seats, delete and confirm selections, and view the distribution based on the venue's capacity.
How I built it
The way the app was built was on Atom using HTML, CSS, and JS files to create the front-end development of the website.
Challenges I ran into
Since every team member is currently a sophomore, nobody was sure which tools to use. A lot of time was spent trying to develop a mobile app on XCode using swift, but we eventually realized it was easier to develop a web app. Another challenge was we were only familiar with C++ and some HTML and CSS, so we had to transcribe the C++ algorithm to Swift, then to JavaScript. Finally, our last challenge was integrating both HTML and CSS with JavaScript.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We were capable to deploy a decent web app prototype in less than 24 hours despite our inexperience.
What I learned
We learnt that organization is key and taking enough at the beginning of the challenge to evaluate the different options and work on the best scenario.
What's next for Stadiumnator3000
Scale the app to a larger, more realistic level, impacting the country's economy in every single aspect.
