Inspiration

SignaPay Challenge in HackAI to determine the risk score of an online business. Input is the name, address, and contact of the business.

What it does

Validates the authenticity of an online business by using Google Maps, Yelp, Twilio, Whois, and other APIs available online. It has a set of parameters that determine the risk score depending on the online presence of the business.

How we built it

Created and hosted a website on AWS EC2 using Python in the Django framework.

Challenges we ran into

Determining the value of risk associated with each parameter by extensive research online and refining those values to get an accurate risk score.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our working website gives an accurate risk score and validates the business. Moreover, we secured the 1st position in the hackathon as the risk scores were the most accurate according to SignaPay's test cases.

What we learned

As a team, we were able to learn and apply some key skills in the hackathon.

What's next for Business Risk Evaluator

More research on risk parameters, more APIs can be used, and as the dataset grows, machine learning algorithms can be implemented to make the risk score more accurate. The business value of the project is to help individuals and organizations be aware of the risk involved in dealing with different businesses.
