Hack-1

Inspiration

I a huge sport fanatic and there's nothing more annoying to reach a field or court and see it taken because of an event. This was built to help people find sport locations easily, depending on the sport they love to participate

What it does

It displays sport locations and tells which kind of field or court it is and its surroundings and infracstructure

How I built it

I build it using the Sports Field, Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis datasets from the Ottawa city open data. This datasets, where displayed by converting a csv file into a json file which could be accessed through javascript and displayed in html

Challenges I ran into

The most difficult challenge I ran into was to read the csv file, which I overcame by converting it into a json file

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud I could read data in a json file and render it in an html page

What I learned

I learned how to use an API, what it is and also that there are more than one way to perform a task

What's next for Hack-1

I could be improved by adding a better search which would display only certain characteristics and also a map to show the locations of the fields or courts
