Inspiration
Many people have difficulties staying consistent with their habits, and we felt that having someone there to hold you accountable will lead to more success.
What it does
CHALLENGR is an app that let's you compete against your friends while also working towards your goals.
How we built it
Flutter for frontend, using Firebase as our database, Figma for Prototyping.
For our process: Initially we brainstormed lots off different ideas, designed for flows for how the app operates, and built quick rough outlines of the pages on the whiteboard. We also designed prototypes on Figma. We then started implmentation in Flutter.
Challenges we ran into
We initially had our project in React Native, with firebase back end, however, we ran into a lot of issues with the database, and we couldn't properly retrieve information. It was suppose bad that we decided to restart and use Flutter the night before deadline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- The idea
- Design of the UI, very user friendly
- Interaction between users
- Switching from React to Flutter on short notice and getting so much done.
What we learned
- Good process of brainstorming
- How to use React Native (structure, syntax, database connection)
- How to face challenges together as a team
What's next for CHALLENGR
We weren't able to fully develop the app, so that's the first step. In addition, we want to implement other features beyond, like in app rewards, multi users, some better to counter cheating, and potentially expand it to beyond just challenging your friends.
