Inspiration
Gain (new) experience at a hackathon. We tried a very simple idea. Also, it was because our AI idea didn't seem to work.
What it does
Tracks your positive and negative habits. When you mark a positive habit done, your score goes up by 1. Score starts at 10. The goal is to reach 100. You lose if your score reaches 0. Score is decreased each time you mark a negative habit done, decreasing more the more times you do so. Also, each time you mark a habit as done, a random motivation quote is printed to motivate you to reach the final score of 100!
How we built it
We wrote the code on IntelliJ (Java). We pulled the basic code as a template, but we added additional features to enhance user experience. We added the positive and negative habit so that scoring would make sense. Motivational quotes were added for a more friendly experience.
Challenges we ran into
We couldn't figure out how to implement our idea into a website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to submit something plausible. We couldn't come up with ideas, so we just found a simple one.
What we learned
We learned how to effectively use AI (thank you ChatGPT). We also learned that we fell into the valley of despair because there was a lot of things that we didn't really know how to do regarding hackathon ideas.
What's next for Habit Tracker Game
Not sure. It was just a very simple idea that doesn't need too much expansion. This is definitely a stepping stone to bigger projects that we may come up with in the future (this was some our first hackathons, so we aren't super experienced yet)
