Inspiration
Habits are like the neurons of our human neural net. I have been tracking my habits for 209 days, and all my friends wanted to do it, too. But it is annoying to track habits. I personally vibe coded scripts for my method. This is not fun nor intuitive. That is why I made Habit Hall - to make tracking self improvement convenient and natural.
What it does
It helps users track and organize their habits in a seamless fasion.
How we built it
I built it using boltdotnew for the main implementation, and Cursor for fine-tuning features.
Challenges we ran into
Using boltdotnew became challenging for fine-tuning since the system would constantly edit files. I found out it also does not disclose all files it has edited. This leads to it breaking things or changing the design.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that the logic works as intended and that the database, authentication, and payment were integrated.
What we learned
I learned that using multiple tools is large benefit. I learned that boltdotnew is really good for frontend and integrations.
What's next for Habit Hall
If the app gets attention, social features will be implemented - I already have three in mind. Otherwise, I will be optimizing the code for updates, and editing the frontend for mobile view - adding convenient features along the way.
