Our Goal

Our team wanted to create a task tracker that would make users want to enforce good habits through the influence of cute cats!

What it does

Our web app allows people to gamify their good habit formation. Through the use of cute aesthetics and endearing cats we enable the user to grow with pets.

How we built it

We used React as the framework to code most of the project. We used node.js to help backend development. All art components are made from MediBang

Challenges we ran into

Many of the API services used and react components had out of date documentation which made the libraries a bit hard to work with. But through the use of online forums and trial and error we were able to get a working web app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

All of our components, icons, and artworks are hand drawn! No AI was used to generate any art for the app.

What we learned

We learnt how to work with google OAuth API as well as utilizing react to create a coherent web application.

What's next for HabiCat

We plan to add more pets and customization (such as room decorations and accessories) as well as a friend system so you can improve along your peers and show off your pets to each other.
