Inspiration

This project idea appealed to me during the planning stages of this hackathon. The idea of giving back to other and providing them with an opportunity or increased chances of buying a home. During these chaotic times, a home can be you castle where you know you are safe.

What it does

The application provides a portal for customers to sign up as well as Lenders to sign up. It then uses the customers sign up data to provide a list of potential houses for sale near their location sorted by relevance. The user can then select a listing that it interesting to them and it is automatically included in their application submission along with other data.

On the Lenders end, once logged in. A data feed is available. The lender can see currently submitted applications in a table along with a count of how many applicants are currently applying.

How I built it

I built the application by implementing a full MERN stack approach with custom and layered API calls. Additionally, multiple storage solutions were utilized for user tracking and storage.

Challenges I ran into

Major challenges I ran into were 0auth, integrating application wide authentication, and the combining mongo db, firebase, and finastra customer onboarding to accomplish my vision.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of the entire project. I was able to provide dynamic data feed updates, multiple levels of state management, database solutions integrations, JWT, protected routes, middleware and so much more. The project was a non stop learning point.

What I learned

As I stated in my accomplishments. I was able to learn middleware, protected routes, firestore, firebase, mongodb, mongodb sessions and session management, I improved my MERN stack immensely, I learned and got immersed in material-ui, and so much more.
