H2OGuard: Smart Leak Detection & Water Management Inspiration Water wastage is a growing global crisis, with millions of liters lost daily due to unnoticed pipeline leaks. Inspired by this, I developed H2OGuard, a smart system that detects leaks, monitors water usage, and provides real-time alerts to prevent unnecessary loss. WhatILearned IoT & Embedded Systems – Connecting sensors to ESP32 for real-time data collection. AI & Data Analysis – Using machine learning to detect anomalies in water flow. Cloud Computing – Storing and processing sensor data on Firebase/AWS IoT. Mobile App Development – Implementing real-time notifications and tracking via Flutter. HowIBuiltIt

  1. Sensors & Hardware – Used flow sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and ESP32 for data collection.
  2. Data Processing & AI – Trained a machine learning model to identify abnormal water usage.
  3. Cloud & API Integration – Sent real-time data to Firebase/AWS and used Google Maps API for leak location tracking.
  4. Mobile App & Alerts – Built a Flutter app with Twilio API for instant SMS/WhatsApp alerts. ChallengesFaced Sensor Accuracy – Calibrating sensors to avoid false positives. With further improvements, it can revolutionize water management systems worldwide.
