Inspiration

From our family and relatives who live outside of Saudi Arabia, who came on Hajj and faced problems regarding money handling and transactions.

What it does

The core concept of our idea is to make everyday's basic transactions more convenient and time saving.

How we built it

We made sketches and rough drafts of the work flow and processes involved. We jotted down every idea that popped in our minds, no matter how silly it sounded at the time. Then we recognized what elements should be the priority for our Minimum Viable Product in order to stay true to our core concept and eliminated the rest.

We then ended up on initial designs of the interfaces and started development on that first to properly visualize our concept in its initial stages. So, the UX/UI was developed first.

Since our initial platform is android, our developer used Android Studio to program some parts of the UX/UI.

Our designer gave life to the concept visually, while our developer gave life to the concept technically.

At every stage the product manager kept in check if the team is straying away from the core concept and made sure the necessary features are kept a priority to fulfill the MVP philosophy.

After constantly reviewing and revisiting the visual designs and processes, we discovered some major flaws that forced us to improve not only our design, but also our idea. Thus, the newer UX/UI was born.

Challenges we ran into

--How the transaction process will work.

--The parties and authorities that need to be involved for the transaction(s) to take place.

--What are the necessary and unnecessary features of the app.

--Integrating certain APIs into our mobile app for the purposes of testing

--GitHub setup since our developer uses Ubuntu while the designer and product manager use Windows.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

--The idea and concept of our app

--Discovering our working potential as part of a team with good communication and as individuals

--Forming new connections and networking with other creative minds participating in the event

--Being part of history being made by attending the First HajjHackathon

What we learned

How to more effectively communicate with team members.

How to be more productive by assigning tasks and responsibilities effectively

The concept of MVP philosophy, which helped us narrow down alot of things and focus on important features, reorganizing our priorities.

Mentors are really important people and should be consulted for guidance and advice, not only regarding the industry they or we work in, but life experiences in general as well.

What's next for H051_QRich

Try to continue with the development of the app and keep evolving it by applying the idea the more industries and sectors.
