Inspiration
The beautiful mountains of British Columbia and the scenery of Burnaby Mountain by the SFU campus inspired us to build a profile generator for all the hidden natural treasures that are waiting to be discovered in the vast ranges of the province.
What it does
H!ker makes extensive use of GPT3.5 Turbo and OpenAI's DALL-E image generator to dynamically create tourism descriptions, wildlife info, and artistic portraits for each and every great mountain in the wilderness of BC.
How we built it
We used React to build the dynamic frontend of our web profile generator, and used Express to handle the processing of our backend. We used MongoDB to store the rating information for each mountain in our profile. We also used APIs for ChatGPT, DALL-E, and Echo3D to make the effects that is shown on our generated profile.
Challenges we ran into
Navigating the complex arrangement of APIs and integration of these APIs into our application and have them interact with each other accordingly was a challenge we had to overcome.

We will expand and maintain the profile generator and possibly add more fun features to make the profile generator more powerful.
