The problem our project solves
We are all facing a new reality with safety measures that require social distancing in order to tackle the spread of coronavirus. Due to these measures, training for medical staff cannot be delivered using conventional methods: meetings, courses, seminars. Looking at the current international situation we do see the urgent need to adapt the way we train medical staff. Delivering webinars and designing an e-learning platform will ensure the continuity of the medical educational process while following the measures of social distancing.
The solution we bring to the table
In these trying times, our oganization wants to come in the aid of our medical specialists/profesionals with the possibility of offering the latest essential informations about COVID-19 through an e-learning platform focused on this matter. Our team wants also to ensure the continuity of this project, bringing it to a second phase, in which we will develop online courses on various medical specialties, designed to make the process of medical education accesible and constant
What have we done during the weekend?
On the course of this past weekend we tried to bring our ideea to life and create a prototype of the e-learning platform. We must mention that what we will present in this project is only a prototype. The actual platform will be ready in about 2 weeks.
The solution’s impact to the crisis
The medical staff during this period of time is overwhelmed due to the high level of work and stress. Through the solution proposed by us, we are trying to simplify as much as possible the training process for basic skills that are needed in order to be able to treat COVID-19 patient. This will reduce the number of hours required by every healthcare operator for the accumulation of essential knowledge. We do believe that in order to ensure the continuity of qualitative medical services and to prevent the accidental spread of the virus, a rigorous training regarding safety measures and further therapeutic behavior is of utmost importance. The information presented in the platform can then be printed in the form of infographics. This will ensure the availability of quick guidelines even in the workplace and will ensure that the decision taking process will be faster and in accordance with the newest guidelines.
The necessities in order to continue this project
In order to ensure the success of this project, our team will need both material and human resources
Regarding human resources, our team will have to be completed by experts in the following fields: development of the e-learning platform, promotion and marketing.
The material resources that will be needed to implement this project are:
- equipment for video materials realization: video cameras, microphones, professional lights, etc;
- interactive whiteboard;
- equipment for graphic design: laptop, tablet, etc;
- equipment for hosting the platform: dedicated server.
The value of our solution after the crisis- H-ELP ( Health E-Learning Platform)
Medical education is a process that never ends and it is in constant need of change. This pandemic is most likely going to modify the way we approach the educational process. Our desire is to develop this platform to meet the standards needed to award an CME point certificate to each participant at the end of a training session. We will also try to collaborate with medical staff from other European countries in order to make the information accessible and useful for any doctor at European level.
