Inspiration
Our inspiration for creating GymSpot stems from our joys of going to the gym and, wanting to develop an inclusive and supportive environment for all gym-goers from beginner to advanced
What it does
GymSpot is a social app that allows users to record and share workouts and exercises with other people while encouraging people to go to the gym by gamifying the experience through a point system.
How we built it
We built GymSpot using react for the frontend with the Mantine framework and, Express/Node JS for the backend
Challenges we ran into
The greatest challenge we faced through developing this application were the time constraints. Due to the time constraints, we were forced to rush some features and couldn't develop all the features we wanted Another challenge was developing the frontend with React due to it being our first time using it
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create a functional product with various attributes to motivate people to share their fitness journey and promote a healthy and inclusive society.
What we learned
We were able to learn a lot about the complexity involved in creating even the simplest of login systems.
What's next for GymSpot.
GymSpot is planning to create a fully functional beta testing product by the end of 2023 and planning to launch the full functional app by 2025.
