Inspiration

Sam's lifelong dedication to the weight room inspired us to upgrade his routine by implementing useful metrics.

What it does

The "Gym Bro" utilizes real-time gyroscopic input to compute repetitions and effort level based on oscillatory data.

How we built it

We built our device using a breadboard, Arduino, accelerometer, 8x8 display matrix, LCD, and a 9V battery.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into countless issues when analyzing the accelerometer data based on orientation, noise, connection, and human error.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our finished, compact, working design operates as we planned. We were able to go one step further and find a compartment that stores our components for a better visual display.

What we learned

We learned how to compute and analyze accelerometer data on the Arduino IDE and wire a working circuit using microcontrollers.

What's next for Gym Bros

Our next steps would be to "fool proof" our design in order to prevent any bugs that may occur with further testing and design.
