About the Project
GyanSetu — “The Knowledge Bridge” is a vernacular, agentic AI that connects Indian students to career paths, scholarships, and actionable next steps such as prefilled forms, reminders, and verified links.
What Inspired Us
Millions of students in Tier-2/3 towns face information asymmetry in career decisions. Resources are often outdated, and English-first, creating barriers for rural students. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes career counseling — but scalable, multilingual solutions are missing.
How We Intend to Build
Curate scholarship data, college program details, and government schemes. Structure them into a searchable vector database. Define workflows for retrieval, eligibility checks, OCR parsing, and form prefilling. Use Granite models for reasoning and multilingual response generation. Web interface and WhatsApp integration for student queries.
Anticipated Challenges
Keeping data updated and verified as government rules change. OCR quality for scanned certificates. Managing response latency while ensuring reliability. Designing safe, privacy-preserving workflows for student information.
Expected Outcomes
A working prototype agent that responds to queries in Hindi/English (extendable to other languages). Demonstrations of eligibility checks, OCR parsing, and form prefilling. Clear, cited answers with confidence scores. Potential to scale nationally to empower students across diverse demographics.
