Inspiration
Mom and pop shops are difficult to maintain and comply to new legislation regulations, especially for less knowledgable owners. Many older owners aren't tech savvy or in tune with current market trends. This is a problem for valuable small businesses in the community.
What it does
The points of service devices within the small business can connect to our 5G network and our AI agent will collect business data to make useful recommendations for business owners such as seasonal menu items, inventory order placements, and dynamic pricing. Clients can ask our GuyAI agent questions, and Guy will respond with natural clear human language, making business ownership accessible to more people.
How we built it
We leveraged Google Gemini API to implement our AI agent. Then we connected it with our React frontend that gives the AI agent an accessible user interface.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into problems trying to run our programs on the Raspberry Pi. We also had challenges trying to connect our backend with our frontend. Also had issues with merging our changes within the team.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Using the Google Gemini API and getting a working SLM running on our laptop.
What we learned
We learned how to work as a team and collaborative code through GitHub. We also learned how to call an API and use it.
What's next for GuyAI
We need to make our agent be able to take data from business devices that are connected to the network and make decisions based off of that.
