Inspiration

Every day we hear news of victims of violence, mental health issues, and online abuse, and we can’t deny that we too have been there several times.

Despite the increasing effort to tackle these issues of increasing violence, timely health services, disaster relief, and many more, the problem is not sorted out yet. So, we aim to help the needy, ensuring their timely protection, rescue, and rehabilitation through our hack which will help the victims of different areas: violence, child abuse, disasters, immediate health care, disaster, and many more through the single platform.

Accoring to the research of OHCHR, more than 1 in 10 people are living with mental health conditions at any one time. Yet, treatment coverage is unacceptably poor, especially in low and middle-income countries

So, what does it exactly???

Gunaso, a messenger bot, encompasses the two best features of connecting the needy ones with reliable service providers in that area and an AI-based human bot. As we “Get Started” with it, the bot will provide the list of services in the form of buttons as Health services- ambulance and health physician; Mental Health Relief- Bullying, depression, and online harassment; Violence Prevention- domestic violence, sexual abuse, and child abuse; and Disaster Relief- Earthquake, flood, and hurricane. With the user selecting any of them, they can choose if they want a service provider or an AI-based chatbot. According to their selection, they are connected with the details to their respective server. The service provider uses the location sharing feature that will enable us to filter the organization working on this sector within their nearest location and share the details. On the other hand, with AI bot, one can communicate as if they are talking with real humans.

But HOW??

With the implementation of the messenger bot on Django and deployment on Heroku, we used cockroach DB for the databases. Different datasets of several organizations working in this sector were scrapped from several APIs. However, with the time constraint, we couldn't design our own AI-based module and used the API of GPT-3 as a prototype to show our hack.

What's next for Gunaso

We want to create our own AI module and implement it for public use, as right now, it is accessible only to the developer. Furthermore, we aim to integrate this entire bot with Twilio, which will enable the user to do this whole process exactly in phone messages.
