The three of us love playing guitar! After hearing about one of the topics in MakeUofT2026 being music, we were super excited to create something that caters to our interests! Going into this hackathon, most of us were inexperienced in hardware. Throughout the event with teamwork, learning and lots and lots of googling, we played to our strengths to learn and succeed as a group! We built our project around a four button compact guitar that catered to accessibility, creativity and flexibility. When building the Guit-air, we had some challenges with our hardware knowledge, interacting with several tools we have never touched before like the accelerometer or integrating an MCU with a webapp. Overall with trial and error we were able to finish the Guit-air!

Guit-air, both a flexible and inclusive device for everyone. After noticing guitars are pricey, bulky and physically demanding we designed a product that solves these issues.
