Ever loved guided tours but hated the rigid schedules and hefty price tags? My wife and I, after 50+ countries, certainly did! That's why we created GuideMe: your personal, AI-powered tour guide. Ditch the flag-waving crowds and explore any destination, on your terms, with rich, interactive insights.
What it does
GuideMe provides AI-generated tours with real-time location data, an interactive AI chat guide, voice narration, and detailed points of interest, all integrated with interactive maps.
How we built it
Built with React, TypeScript, and Vite for the frontend, Supabase for the backend (PostgreSQL, Auth, Edge Functions), and integrated OpenAI GPT-4, Google Maps, and ElevenLabs/Tavus for AI and mapping capabilities.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating real-time AI services, optimizing token usage for cost efficiency, handling complex location data, and ensuring seamless user experience across dynamic content generation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully implemented a functional AI tour guide, dynamic tour generation, and a responsive, intuitive user interface that enhances the travel experience.
