Inspiration

In the last year I began to explore my interests a little more and discovered that I enjoy photography. It's a lot of fun to create memories of places you've been. So, I thought it would be a good idea to create an app that'll help you do that.

What it does

The app provides a list of places for the user to visit, and for each place, the user can take a picture and associate it with the place.

How I built it

I used Swift and SwiftUI to build the project.

Challenges I ran into

Primarily, I'm a web developer so the transition to Swift and iPhone development was very challenging. I first had to get a feel for the language and its syntax, as well as how to develop an app for the iPhone. However, the architecture was the hardest part. Since I have no experience with app development, it was a challenge to get a handle on the architecture.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that I got a minimal demo working with no prior experience. This goes to show how accessible and easy programming truly is to learn from scratch.

What I learned

I learned some basic app development in Swift.

What's next for guided-scrapbook

The next steps would be to add some real places in the app, as well as adding support for multiple photos at one place. Moreover, it would be useful to provide the user a way to load and place photos from and to their phone storage.
