Inspiration

This project was inspired by thought-provoking games like "Will You Press the Button?" and "Would You Rather," which challenge players to weigh the pros and cons of hypothetical scenarios. The idea of adding a social element, where players can compare their choices with others and contribute their own scenarios, sparked the creation of this game. I wanted to create something engaging, creative, and interactive that encourages players to think critically and share their ideas.

What it does

  1. Scenarios: Players are presented with unique scenarios, each offering a compelling advantage balanced by a challenging disadvantage.
  2. Choices: Players decide whether to accept or reject the scenario based on the trade-offs presented.
  3. Community Insights: After making a choice, players can see how others in the game decided, offering a fascinating look at group preferences and reasoning.
  4. Create Your Own: Players have the ability to craft and submit their own scenarios, adding a creative and interactive element to the game.
  5. Dynamic Gameplay: The game continuously grows with user-submitted content, ensuring endless possibilities and fresh challenges.

How we built it

  • Frontend: Blocks for a dynamic and responsive user interface.
  • Game Logic: Designed to handle scenario generation, user inputs, and comparison of participant choices.
  • ** database**: Redis as a database to store scenarios, player choices, and analytics.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Balancing Scenarios: Ensuring scenarios were engaging and balanced, with compelling advantages and disadvantages.
  2. Testing: Making sure the game logic handled edge cases and the UI worked smoothly across devices.
  3. Technology: I didn't have any idea about reddit Blocks framework so it took me time to adjust

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Scalability and Growth: The project is designed to grow over time. With the addition of new user-generated scenarios, the game will continue to evolve and stay fresh, offering endless possibilities for future players.
  2. User-Generated Content: Enabling players to submit their own scenarios has been a key achievement. This feature not only will increases the game’s replayability but also will fosters a sense of community and creativity among players.

What we learned

  • Game mechanics: Designing engaging scenarios and balancing the advantages and disadvantages.
  • User interaction: Creating an intuitive interface for players to make choices and submit their own scenarios, With reddit Blocks framework .
