Inspiration The idea for this project stemmed from a passion for both gaming and technology education. I wanted to create an engaging way for players to enhance their problem-solving skills while enjoying a visually appealing and interactive experience. Combining Phaser.js for robust game mechanics with React's dynamic UI capabilities seemed like the perfect blend to bring this vision to life.
What I Learned Throughout the development of this rocket game, I deepened my understanding of several key areas:
Game Development with Phaser.js: Gained hands-on experience in creating game scenes, handling physics, and managing assets within Phaser.js. React Integration: Learned how to seamlessly integrate Phaser.js with React to manage UI elements like the fuel bar, score display, and user information. Firebase Integration: Explored the basics of Firebase for potential multiplayer features and data storage, particularly focusing on storing and retrieving subreddit data for puzzles. TypeScript Proficiency: Enhanced my TypeScript skills by implementing strict typing in both React components and game logic, ensuring more reliable and maintainable code. Error Handling and Debugging: Tackled and resolved runtime errors, especially those arising from improper rendering of Phaser objects within React, improving my debugging strategies.
