Inspiration

In hospitals, nurses can't monitor every patient at all times, and medical emergencies can happen unexpectedly. We wanted to create an affordable wearable that helps detect emergencies and alerts caregivers as quickly as possible.

What It Does

GuardianCare is an AI-powered smart wristband that monitors vital signs and detects potential medical emergencies. When abnormal readings are detected, it sends alerts to nurses or caregivers through a mobile app. The wristband also includes an SOS button for manual emergency alerts.

How We Built It

We used an ESP32 microcontroller with health-monitoring sensors to collect data. We developed a mobile app to display patient information and receive alerts. Our system connects the wearable to the application, allowing real-time monitoring and emergency notifications.

Challenges We Faced

Our biggest challenges were integrating hardware with software, establishing reliable real-time communication, and handling sensor data accurately within a limited hackathon timeframe.

What We Learned

We gained experience with IoT development, hardware integration, real-time data processing, and building mobile applications for healthcare.

What's Next

We plan to improve emergency detection accuracy, add more health sensors, and test GuardianCare in realistic healthcare scenarios. Our long-term goal is to make patient monitoring more accessible and reliable.
