Inspiration
As a student, I realized how often our personal data is collected and used without our knowledge. With rising concerns around privacy, I wanted to create a tool that gives users clear visibility and control over their own digital footprint.
What it does
Guardian Vault is a privacy-first platform that lets users: Monitor how their personal data is being used Manage app and website permissions in one place Visualize data activity through an interactive dashboard Stay informed with built-in security features
How I built it
I built the project using: Frontend: React + TypeScript with Vite for fast builds UI Framework: TailwindCSS + shadcn-ui for modern design Routing: React Router State Management & Data Fetching: TanStack Query
Challenges I ran into
Setting up and debugging dependencies locally Managing routing and multiple components in a short timeframe Working solo, balancing design + development together
Accomplishments that I’m proud of
Designed a clean, modern, responsive web app Learned to integrate shadcn-ui with React efficiently Successfully deployed a working prototype within the hackathon time
What I learned
Improved my React + TypeScript skills Hands-on experience with project setup, debugging, and hosting Importance of designing with privacy by default in mind
What’s next for Guardian Vault
Add authentication so users can log in securely Connect to real APIs for live data insights Expand features to mobile apps in the future
