Inspiration The financial world is rapidly digitizing, yet older adults are frequently left behind or targeted by increasingly sophisticated scams. We noticed that existing banking tools either lack accessibility features or present overly complex interfaces that confuse senior users. Inspired by the need for inclusive financial security, we created Guardian Financiero Senior—an intelligent, accessible banking platform designed specifically to empower seniors to manage their money safely, with a persistent digital assistant named Ana guiding them through every transaction.
How We Built It We built Guardian Financiero Senior using Python and Streamlit for a responsive, clean user interface tailored for high contrast and dynamic scaling.
Frontend & Accessibility System: Designed custom CSS layout logic within Streamlit to dynamically scale container padding, line-heights, and typography sizes.
Backend Integration: Integrated backend API modules (main_backend.py and nessie_client.py) to handle rule verification and pull live transactional data.
Security & Anomaly Engine: Built real-time transaction checking that screens incoming payments against preset threshold rules and sensitive data leaks (such as accidental PIN sharing in payment memos).
