Inspiration
My grandmother is constantly frustrated by prexisting systems that monitor emergency incidents such as LifeAlert. She often finds there are lots of false positives, the responders don't know the severity of the incident, and often times first responders have to search for her in her house.
What it does
Provides first responders with an idea on what the emergency may be as well as the location of them victim in the house.
How I built it
We used an esp8266 microcontroller along with iBeacons and other sensors to connect first responders to the emergency better.
Challenges I ran into
Lack of documentation for the esp8266.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Connecting many pieces of hardware together to have them communicate in harmony.
What I learned
The importance of GET and POST requests.
What's next for Guardian
Looking into intellectual property.
