TeleMediCall: Telemedicine 2.0

Telemedicine is a poor service without clinical examination or lab testing. We propose a solution for remote clinical examination and lab testing. Anyone will be able to use it without external help!

Inspiration

Telemedicine is currently about long talks and sending patient to a...clinic for some blood tests. This is not helping so much. We decided to offer a solution that allows a remote clinical examination (in a professional way) and fast access to lab analyses. And what is most important - the solution do not need external help: it is based on existing technologies every patient can use by himself.

What it does

We offer a modular construction that can be installed in almost any public or private location (e.g. shopping malls, gas stations, large office buildings or even in a customized bus able to reach remote villages). This is a remote examination and investigation space made from independent units. We call it: TeleMediCall space. We designed clinical examination units, lab testing units or cardiac evaluation units.We designed each unit to be extremely user-friendly. In fact, in most of the units the patient will not need an external help to use it. How is happening? The patient can initiate a telemedicine consultation at home or even on TMC premises. He will access the necessary units for clinical pictures, thermal imaging or lab analyses.Every information will be obtained in minutes and will go to his remote doctor.

How I built it

WE:

  • identified the need of those who use Telemedicine
  • identified the solution
  • defined the concept of TeleMediCall space
  • decided to work with LEGO-type units
  • discussed with our business-oriented friends and explored some business plan
  • identified the resources (capsules are made in China, POC- devices are widely offered in Europe etc.)
  • started to design software changes in telemedicine platform (API)
  • created a TEAM
  • had fun! ## Challenges I ran into Identify the suitable devices to be placed in every TMC. Integrate the devices in a web platform. Prepare the business plan. ## Accomplishments that I'm proud of A solid proposal! ## What I learned To work with a team created in hours ! ## What's next for TeleMediCall: create business plan and find investors.
