Inspiration

Nowadays, many services are stepping as a "middle-man" service to connect people to different company's services. I thought it was an interesting concept and wanted to try connecting people to people instead, as money thankfully isn't a concern during this period. I wanted to make sure people could have a way to share items with one another during this period, and decided to try my hand at making a web application from the skills I picked up in school.

What it does

It connects people living in the same postal code so that they may share items with one another.

How I built it

Bootstrapped some aspects of the UI. I also used python flask to create microservices and used javascript to invoke them.

Challenges I ran into

UI was way out of my comfort zone as I had only learned briefly how to use javascript in class. Flask was manageable but a large portion of time was spent debugging on this aspect. I also ran into some issues where the flow of information was not how I expected it.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Everything! Especially for doing this alone and toughing it out through the night.

What I learned

Better to plan out a detailed structure before starting to code.
