GrowWell

Inspiration

Many people struggle to eat optimally for their health goals. They don’t know how to balance calories, macros, vitamins, and minerals, which leads to poor health or slow progress. I wanted to create a solution that makes healthy eating simple, personalized, and fun.

What it does

GrowWell is an AI-powered personal nutrition coach that helps users -

1. Track calories, macros, vitamins, and minerals from meals.
2. Generate personalized meal plans based on age, health conditions, and goals [weight gain, muscle, energy)]
3. Gamify healthy habits with streaks, achievements, and badges.
4. Provide feedback and warnings if users over consume or under consume certain nutrients.
5. Predict safe progress timelines for achieving their goals.

How we designed it

1. Defined user inputs- age, weight, health conditions, dietary preferences, and goals.
2. Conceptualized an AI system to generate personalized nutrition plans.
3. Designed gamification features to motivate and engage users.
4. Created mock ups/flowcharts to visualize the app flow and interactions.
5. Focused on simplicity and clarity so users can follow the plan easily.

Challenges we ran into

1. Making AI recommendations safe and balanced for all users.
2. Designing a system that adapts dynamically as users log meals.
3. Creating gamification that is engaging but not overwhelming.
4. Condensing all features into a clear, concise concept.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1. Designed a complete, AI-driven nutrition concept that’s goal-aware and gamified.
2. Created a visual flow to show how users interact with the AI coach.
3. Developed a plan framework that can easily be implemented in a real app.
4. Concept is scalable and applicable for anyone wanting to improve health.

What we learned

1. Personalization is key: one-size-fits-all solutions don’t work.
2. Gamification can significantly improve engagement in health apps.
3. AI can turn complex nutritional data into actionable, user-friendly guidance.
4. Clear design and communication make an idea understandable and impactful.
