The Problem
We entered J1 this year, and many of our peers were faced with anxiety about the future - specifically, we realised that we only had two years left before uni applications! And with uni applications, we needed good portfolios. But many of us didn't know how or where to start.
We also realised just how difficult it could be to find competitions and workshops that you were interested in. Most of the time, we just waited for our teachers to sign us up (and this only happened if the school was on the mailing list). But no one around us took preemptive and independent steps to look for these events, simply because it was so hard to find them.
The Idea
LinkedIn is a tremendously popular platform for people to share their resumes and for recruiters to find new talent. What if we applied this idea to our problem?
Introducing GROWTH+: LinkedIn for Students
What it does
GROWTH+ helps to bridge the gap between students and event organisers. Forget about emailing countless people, or relentlessly posting on social media - GROWTH+ will be able to publicise your event for you! It provides a centralised platform for organisers to get word out there about their event, while allowing students easy access to all the available events at the click of a button.
Students can also view the portfolios of successful seniors and study great portfolios that worked. This way, they know which competitions and workshops to join so that they can reach their dream university.
