Inspiration
Our inspiration was the high rate of plant failure and lack of general knowledge surrounding gardening practices, and we wanted to improve that.
What it does
It tracks plant growth and detects disease within a digital garden, utilizing the Gemini API for scans and also a personalized chatbot.
How we built it
We used React for the frontend and Java Spring Boot and PostgreSQL for the backend and the Gemini API in the backend.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the front end and back end was often troublesome, and so was deciding what features we wanted to implement.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting our core features down in little time after transitioning off a different idea, and our digital garden is fun to look at and play with.
What we learned
The brainstorming step is a way more important step than you realize, and it's crucial to lay out your project before you start.
What's next for Growth
We hope to expand Growth by adding more features such as a leaderboard with your friends.
