Inspiration
We additionally were able to use auth0 and hosted the website on Firebase, one of google cloud's products. We additionally set up DNS to utilize GoDaddy and have our domain name of growguardian.co to showcase the website
What it does
It currently displays plants and authenticates users.
How we built it
We leveraged the React framework and integrated it with Firebase Hosting to put it on our domain. Additionally we use auth0 so we would be able to differentiated a variety of users.
Challenges we ran into
Our initial raspberry pi was faulty and needed to be replaced. The second raspberry pi was 32bit and was unable to run our programs. Additionally due to the limitation of MacOS, there was difficulty integrating OpenCV to the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning new things such as React, Firebase integration, GoDaddy DNS.
What we learned
Hardware can be finicky.
What's next for GrowGuardian
Next for grow guardian is to properly implement hardware and to connect to the web application. This would require time to have a proper raspberry pi.
