Inspiration

We got the idea for GrowBro because many students struggle to stay motivated, learn new skills, and prepare for their future careers. Students often use different platforms for studying, discussions, and career preparation. We wanted to bring these things together in one place.

Our goal was to create a platform where students can learn, connect, share ideas, and grow together.

What it does

GrowBro is a student-focused platform designed to support both academic and personal growth.

It provides:

  • AI Study Assistant: Helps students understand topics, get answers, and receive learning guidance.
  • Discussion Hub: Allows students to share ideas, ask questions, and discuss coding, DSA, and other subjects.
  • Practice Mode: Helps students practice questions and improve their problem-solving skills.
  • Real-World Missions: Encourages students to complete learning and community-based activities.
  • Student Profiles: Allows users to manage their profiles and track their progress.

The main idea is to make learning more interactive, collaborative, and enjoyable.

How we built it

We built GrowBro using modern web technologies.

  • Frontend: React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Backend: Node.js and Express.js.
  • Database: Prisma with SQLite.
  • AI Integration: Google Gemini API.

We connected the frontend and backend to support features such as authentication, discussions, missions, profiles, and AI-powered assistance.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was connecting different features and making them work together smoothly.

We faced difficulties with frontend-backend integration, authentication, database operations, and AI API responses. We also had to debug errors and improve the user experience while developing the platform.

Managing multiple features within a limited time was another challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have built a platform that brings different aspects of student growth together.

We successfully developed features such as user authentication, discussions, profile management, missions, and an AI-powered study assistant.

More than just building individual features, we are proud that we turned an idea into a working web platform.

What we learned

While building GrowBro, we learned how to connect frontend and backend technologies, work with APIs and databases, handle errors, and develop features in a full-stack application.

We also learned that building a project is not just about writing code. It requires problem-solving, teamwork, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement.

What's next for GrowBro

GrowBro is still being developed and improved. We are continuously working on fixing bugs, improving existing features, and making the platform more useful and user-friendly.

Our future plans include:

  • Improving the AI Study Assistant and its response reliability.
  • Adding more interactive learning and practice activities.
  • Improving the mission and progress-tracking system.
  • Making discussions more engaging through better community features.
  • Exploring more AI-powered features to support students.

Our vision is to make GrowBro a platform where students can learn, connect, improve their skills, and grow together.

I'm excited to share the progress of GrowBro, a student-focused platform designed to bring learning, collaboration, and personal development together in one place.

Building GrowBro has been a great learning experience. We've faced challenges with API integration, database operations, and connecting different features, but each challenge has helped us learn something new.

This is just the beginning. More improvements are coming!
