Inspiration

So, I’ve always loved flowers. Like seriously — flowers are vibes. One random day I thought, “Yo, what if flowers had personalities and stories to tell?” That idea kinda spiraled into this whole magical garden thing. I wanted to make something relaxing, a little mysterious, and just... wholesome using only HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. And BOOM — Grow Magical Garden was born.

What it does

Okay, so here’s the deal. You’re a flower explorer. You plant magical seeds, mix 'em together, and discover brand new flowers. Each one’s got its own little secret or backstory. There’s a notebook to track all your epic finds, a flowerbed that shows off your growing collection, and even a soundtrack to vibe to while you garden. It’s chill, it’s fun, it’s lowkey addicting.

How we built it

This whole thing is hand-crafted with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no fancy frameworks, just raw code and a whole lotta coffee. ☕ I also plugged in Sonar APIs to sprinkle in some extra magic under the hood (because let’s be real, what’s a magical garden without some tech wizardry?). Built it on my laptop, cried over CSS, high-fived myself when things worked.

Challenges we ran into

Let me tell you, CSS is easy until it isn’t. 😅 Getting all the plants to behave on different screen sizes? Chaos. Also, figuring out the breeding logic and keeping it fun without turning it into spreadsheet hell was a bit of a brain workout. And don’t even get me started on audio bugs. 🐛🎵

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I MADE A WHOLE GAME. Like… from scratch. With blooming animations, music, breeding logic, cute visuals, and everything. And people are actually playing it and enjoying it?? That’s wild to me. Also proud that I didn’t give up halfway when things got tough (which they did. A lot.).

What we learned

✨ CSS is both my nemesis and best friend.

✨ Writing code can be as creative as painting a picture.

What's next for Grow Magical Garden

Okay, so... hear me out:

  1. Make it mobile-friendly so people can vibe with flowers on the go 🌍

  2. Add animations to make the flower breeding process more magical

  3. More flowers, more stories, more secrets

  4. Maybe even give players their own customizable garden space 👀
