Inspiration

How can we create a tool that will help campers?

What it does

Web application with tools that help groups of people plan a camping trip, such as a checklist, GPS/map, and recommendations on what day during the week would be best for a camping trip based on the weather.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript in order to make a website.

Challenges we ran into

We had problems with integrating the APIs/changing them the way we wanted to, as well as creating a database for the website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're glad that we were able to accomplish most of the initial goals for the project set at the beginning of the hackathon.

What we learned

For myself, I have never used any of the programming languages utilized during the hackathon, so it was a lot trying to learn the basics of front end development in 24 hours. I credit the rest of my team to most of the work accomplished in this project and for helping me a lot.

What's next for GroupsCamp

The main focus for GroupsCamp would likely work with scalability, as the web application currently only works with a select number of camps around the Newark area.
