Inspiration
Recognizing names, but having no idea where you would know that person from and finding out what your peers in fb groups are doing.
What it does
The chrome extension authenticates your fb account. Then, it parses through any webpage and highlights the names of people that are in at least one mutual fb group. The list of persons is transferred to the chrome extension and reveals the profile picture with the name to the right of it.
How I built it
We used javascript, css, and html to build the chrome extension and do all the functionalities.
Challenges I ran into
Challanges include: Using Oauth 2.0 to authenticate fb accounts, communicating js scripts to html, in addition to many other challenges.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Creating the authentication for facebook, highlighting the names of people and exporting their info through the fb api to the chrome extension.
What I learned
How to authenticate fb accounts as well as more functionalities of javascript.
