Inspiration

We were inspired by the recurring struggles of coordinating in small teams — whether it's students working on a group assignment, professors managing TAs, or professionals tackling side projects. Existing tools like Trello or Notion are powerful but often too generic or bloated for lightweight, transparent collaboration. We wanted something purpose-built for quick setup, accountability, and clear task visibility in tight-knit teams.

What it does

GroupBoard is a collaborative taskboard designed for student groups, educators, and professionals to manage shared projects efficiently. Users can:

  • Create or join project boards
  • Assign and track tasks on a Kanban board
  • Monitor team activity through a real-time feed
  • Automatically identify inactive contributors via soft “nudge” alerts
  • Collaborate visually with a minimal, focused interface that works on desktop and mobile

It keeps team members in sync without overwhelming them with features they don’t need.

How we built it

Built fully using Lovable AI

Challenges we ran into

Connecting Supabase with Lovable. Even though it was easy I kept running into errors and not being able to connect it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Created a working collaborative taskboard in a short sprint
  • Built an AI-powered nudging system to enhance group accountability
  • Designed a clean UI that works well for mixed audiences
  • Enabled users to onboard in under 1 minute — no friction

What's next for GroupBoard
