GroundWork (Business Tech)

GroundWork is an AI assistant built for independent contractors, like electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, roofers, who routinely lose money to unfair contracts, underpriced bids, and slow or missing payments.

The Problem

Small trade businesses don't have in-house legal or finance teams. They sign risky agreements, underbid jobs, and struggle to collect what they're owed, all while larger GCs and clients hold more leverage at the table.

Our Approach

We pair a FastAPI backend and Next.js frontend with Groq-powered models to deliver four tools in one product: contract risk scanning, bid calculation (with floor pricing and market context), payment tracking with demand-letter and lien-style workflows, and a negotiation coach that provides scripts and walk-away guidance.
