We’ve all been there — trying to take a group photo but someone is always left out behind the camera. Selfies capture faces, but not the moment. Rear-camera shots capture the scenery, but not the people. We wanted to solve this by combining both into one seamless, fun, and memorable photo.

What it does

Groufie is an AI-powered camera app that fuses photos from your front and rear cameras into a single group shot. Whether you’re traveling, at a party, or just hanging out, Groufie ensures everyone and everything is in the frame.

How we built it • Mobile App Development: Built natively with Swift (iOS) to access dual-camera streams. • AI Image Fusion: Custom AI models align and blend faces, backgrounds, and lighting conditions. • UX Design: A minimal, playful interface to make capturing group photos effortless.

Challenges we ran into • Choose a right model that supports blending input photos. • Making AI blending natural, especially in tricky lighting conditions. • Ensuring the app runs smoothly on different iPhone models with varied camera specs.
