Grocery Store Management System

Inspiration

In my home country there are a lot of local grocery store vendors. They always find it difficult to keep track of their data because they cannot afford top technology. I really wanted to help so I decided to make a project that can help these vendors keep track of their data easily.

What it does

As I mentioned earlier, this project helps grocery store vendors keep track of their data. The user-friendly and simple to understand program allows the vendor to store name of an item, its price and its quantity in a file. The vendor can also delete a record, edit price and quantity of an item and can also view the file through some simple commands.

How I built it

I used python language to make this project. I used modules like the pickle module and os module to deal with files and make the program easy to interpret for the user.

Challenges I ran into

It was hard and required a lot of brainstorming to build most of the functions. The difficult part was the loops and dealing with exceptions, and that also took me the most time to figure out.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

I am proud of making a program that is legit and easy to use. From all my past experiences, I really think that this project will help grocery store vendors.

What I learned

One thing I learned is that if you give something enough time, you will figure it out eventually, and it is even better if what you are doing is for the good of the society. I am really motivated after completing this project, and I hope to make more such projects to help the world.

What's next for Grocery Store Management System

The code is setup. I would love to make a website which can be easily accessed by grocery store vendors around the world. For that, I would also need to store data, which can be done by SQL. I will learn these skills and try to achieve what I dream of.
