This project is an innovative idea which helps us implement the 'self-checkout concept' in grocery stores around the country. It is a python program which uses various concepts such as Looping constructs like ‘for’ and ‘while’ loop Files – Binary All file operations such as update, delete and modify Date and time module Conditional statements like ‘if’ and ‘if else’ statement and Functions.

The idea of the program is to generate a bill. The customer has to input all the items they are buying and their details such as the item number, price and quantity. With these the bill would be produced. There are two modes of payment- cash or card, the customer can choose whichever they prefer. If cash is chosen then they can input the amount they paid and get the balance amount if any. When card is chosen, the customer can choose their respective bank account and proceed to pay. There is also a discount of 5% on the total amount for few specific banks. An option for modifying and deleting items is also available in case the customer makes an error while inputting.
