Inspiration:

During these hard times, this covid infested world has given hardships for many people who are not able to buy groceries due to the uncompromising circuit-breaker.  Due to this people are not able to put food on the table. Hence we devised a solution which would make it possible for people to purchase groceries from the comfort of their homes.  We made this possible through a website that is available on most modern web browsers.

What it does:

 In order to help people buy groceries from the safety and comfort of their house we built a website that that connects buyers directly to vendors with no middle-men. • This also helps us reduce the price of our groceries by a pretty substantial margin. • Our website helps customer choose from a wide array of vendors giving customers a great deal of variety of groceries to choose from. • Our website also helps us provide groceries to our customers at subsidised rates. • Our website helps mitigate the risk of covid-19 in our customers by greatly reducing their physical interactions while grocery shopping.

• Our website also provides fresh groceries to our customers.

How we built it:

We built our website using mainly python and we used HTML for the main structure of our webpage. Challenges we ran into:

 We ran into a lot of technical problems with the python code. Since we were trying to incorporate the python code along with the html code, we ran into multiple problems regarding the same.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of:

Although figuring out the python code took us quite some time, we did develop a deeper understanding and interest about the language. We are glad that we were able to finish this project given the little python coding experience we had.  Overall, we were glad to do such a project and are grateful for the hackathon team for giving us the opportunity to do so.

What’s next for our grocery website?

Our grocery app is quite expansive. If our app does well, we will add a food delivey app in the near future and many more extensions, making our project commodious.

We are hoping to add many more vendors, making our customers have better groceries.  We also hope to expand our website to global scale where people can buy groceries that are traditional to their location. We also plan to offer personalisation to our customers based on prior purchases in the form of recommended groceries.
