Inspiration

We came up with the idea of having an app that shows the number of customers in the grocery store because we were inspired by all of the difficulties people are facing with social distancing.

What it does

It provides users all information they need about a grocery store near them during the COVID-19 pandemic. As soon as the users log in, they will be able to find locations of their closest grocery shop, the number of customers in the grocery store so that they will be able to find the best grocery store for them to go to.

How we built it

This was our first time working with flutter. We separated the work evenly, so every teammate made a great impact on the work. We used flutter and android Studio for Android devices and Xcode for iOS. We got the google maps API key to implement google maps in our app.

Challenges we ran into

Using Google API, learning Dart programming language, making the app cross-platform, (I accidentally almost deleted the whole project by typing "git pull")

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We actually build an app on physical devices including both Android and iOS. We think that the amount of work that was done in one day is impressive.

What we learned

It was our first time handling Flutter to create an app for both Android and iOS mobile devices. We faced difficulties, but we learned a lot about how to initialize a function screen, how to connect with the internet to get location and utilize those locations.

What's next for Groceries

For the next step, we will focus on getting information from local grocery stores to feed real-time data into the app to help people make decisions, accomplishing our goals.
