Griffin Health - Our Hackathon Journey

Inspiration

Long NHS waitlists often result in delayed care and worsening health conditions. We built Griffin Health to tackle this issue by creating an AI-powered system that helps doctors prioritise patient care more effectively.

What We Learned

• AI integration in healthcare using swarm agents and RAG systems
• Health data management and processing
• Full-stack development with React, Astro, and shadcn/ui

How We Built It

We developed a smart healthcare dashboard that combines:

• AI swarm agents for monitoring different health metrics
• Vector-based health data storage using RAG
• Interactive patient and doctor dashboards
• Integration with Apple Health data (partial implementation)

Challenges

Time constraints led us to focus on core features, and while we successfully built a Swift app for Apple Health integration, server issues prevented full implementation. We adapted by testing with real Apple Watch data from a team member.

Our first hackathon at GreatUniHack was an incredible learning experience, and we're proud to have represented the University of Leeds with a project that could make a real difference in healthcare delivery 💚
