Food deliveries means of transportation such as gasoline-powered vehicle produces carbon footprint that can potentially harm our environment.
Our solution addresses the problem of decentralized delivery.
Within each cluster of residential areas in Singapore, there stands a chance of multiple people ordering food from the same shopping mall, but at different timing. If two parties order food just three minutes apart, two orders will be created and potentially delivered by two delivery men. Hence, resulting in redundant trips.
Multiple orders with the same delivery to and from areas will be appended into a single order table within a timed interval of 2 - 5 mins. The waiting time is for the population of orders that might occur within the time-frame. When the time is up, or more than three orders are in a single order table, any delivery man can accept and do what they need. Customers' orders within the order table will have their delivery fee will be shared among one another and reduced up to 50%. If time is not available on the customer's hand, they could execute the order immediately, with a surcharge.
The solution reduces the issue of redundant trips, reducing carbon footprint.
